Sarah Ounsworth
Sarah Ounsworth is a light soprano who has an equal passion for performing and teaching. Her musical journey started with the violin when she was 8 years old. As her passion grew, she found herself on stage performing musical theater shows, orchestra concerts, choir concerts, music festivals and everything in between. Her love for performing blossomed into sharing music with others. She has taught piano, violin and voice lessons for a wide range of children; starting from preschool age exploratory lessons to Taylor Swift jam session lessons to high school classical voice lessons.
Professionally, Sarah has performed and competed in various ways all across her home state of Pennsylvania. Her most recent theater credits include "Truly Scrumptious" in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and "Signora Naccarelli" in Light in the Piazza. Her most recent opera credits include "Pamina" in the Magic Flute, as well as her current project "Rosalinde" in Die Fledermaus. She is a two time winner of the Lehigh Valley NATS competition in the Art Song Category, as well as Marywood's University's Concerto Competition winner where she performed Mozart's "Exultate Jubilate".
Sarah earned her Bachelor's of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Marywood University, where she studied under Dr. Jennifer Cowgill and Dr. Rick Hoffenberg. Currently, she is pursuing her Master's of Music degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the Westminster Choir College at Rider University, where she will be studying with Ms. Robin Massie. She believes there is never a stage in life where one stops learning and growing. Sarah is so excited to guide her students and have fun in lessons.
